Online Acting – Pay What You Can

8th April 2020 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 8:00 pm on Monday and Friday, repeating until 24th June 2020

Authentic Acting Tokyo

Given everyone’s current situation, uncertainty about people’s work situation and no real outlook on how long all of this will last and in what way, I feel like it is important more than ever to provide a space for consistent growth, community and creativity especially amongst artists.

I have therefore decided to change the system of our online acting classes and make them free to attend for anyone, across the world, who cannot make a financial commitment at this point.

For everyone else, the amount you pay is up to you and I trust that you will contribute what you can, taking into consideration that we at ELFS Japan too have bills to pay and will rely on people’s continued support over the coming months as well to actually keep the school open.

The classes will continue as online “feedback sessions” on zoom, where I review and give notes on any material the students upload to a specifically created google drive folder (or their own youtube/vimeo accounts) prior to the session.

This means, students are free to work on monologues, solo scenes or even get feedback based on their previously recorded work and showreels.

Upon request I am happy to provide monologue and exercise material to work on.

Class Details

The feedback sessions are (Tokyo time):
Every Monday and Friday 8pm-10pm (but may be shorter if all uploaded material has been reviewed)

Any material you want to be reviewed during the class has to be submitted by 7pm on the day of the class. We will create a special email list and a LINE group specifically for anyone wishing to join the online classes at any point. Anyone is welcome to join the feedback sessions, even if you haven’t submitted any material of your own.

This offer is temporary, but I feel that at this current point in time it’s important that we support each other and not lose touch within our communities.

I believe it is important to protect who we can by staying home as much as we can and furthermore that we can even embrace this chance to find new ways to connect with each other, improve, grow and work together, now even beyond the borders of our countries.
