SUMMARY:ELFS Japan 'Soap Box' Networking Evening
DESCRIPTION:What we’re doing\nSince 2018 ELFS Japan has run a networking evening for Tokyo filmmakers on the second Monday of each month. \nThose who have been to one of these events will remember that at 8pm we would have the ‘Soap Box’\, when anyone attending could get up and introduce themselves to the room\, either informing them of a specific project\, or simply to announce their skills and availability. \nHow it will work\nThe event will be run via Zoom. The channel will open at 7pm and those who arrive will be able to mingle. Our on-site events often had over 50 people attending\, so when we reach a certain number we will split the group into ‘rooms’. \nAt 8pm the ‘Soap Box’ will begin. All attendees will return to the main room and be muted. Each person who wishes to speak will be unmuted and given time to speak. Depending on the numbers this may take a while\, so grab a pen and make a note of people you might like to get in contact with! \nOnce everyone has spoken networking will continue as late as people wish. \nYou do not have to speak. You can just listen! Also feel free to attend if you are not in Tokyo\, or even Japan\, if you are interested in communicating with people here. \nI will ask each person who speaks to provide me with an email address they do not mind being shared. Therefore we can put you in contact with each other after the event\, even without 名刺! \nHow to Join?\nIf you would like to attend please email us at: \ninfo@elfsjapan.com \nPlease include the following: \n\nName\nEmail address for Zoom link\nContact email that can be shared with attendees (at your discretion)\nDo you wish to speak? Yes or No\nSome information on you; e.g. screenwriter\, director\, actor.\n\n  \nYou can also join by completing the form below. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n Your name\n \n \n Your email for Zoom invite\n \n \n Email address to be shared with attendees (optional)\n \n \n Do you wish to speak?\nYesNo\n \n Some information on you; e.g. screenwriter\, director\, actor

SUMMARY:Online Acting - Pay What You Can
DESCRIPTION:Given everyone’s current situation\, uncertainty about people’s work situation and no real outlook on how long all of this will last and in what way\, I feel like it is important more than ever to provide a space for consistent growth\, community and creativity especially amongst artists. \nI have therefore decided to change the system of our online acting classes and make them free to attend for anyone\, across the world\, who cannot make a financial commitment at this point. \nFor everyone else\, the amount you pay is up to you and I trust that you will contribute what you can\, taking into consideration that we at ELFS Japan too have bills to pay and will rely on people’s continued support over the coming months as well to actually keep the school open. \nThe classes will continue as online “feedback sessions” on zoom\, where I review and give notes on any material the students upload to a specifically created google drive folder (or their own youtube/vimeo accounts) prior to the session. \nThis means\, students are free to work on monologues\, solo scenes or even get feedback based on their previously recorded work and showreels. \nUpon request I am happy to provide monologue and exercise material to work on. \nClass Details\nThe feedback sessions are (Tokyo time):\nEvery Monday and Friday 8pm-10pm (but may be shorter if all uploaded material has been reviewed) \nAny material you want to be reviewed during the class has to be submitted by 7pm on the day of the class. We will create a special email list and a LINE group specifically for anyone wishing to join the online classes at any point. Anyone is welcome to join the feedback sessions\, even if you haven’t submitted any material of your own. \nThis offer is temporary\, but I feel that at this current point in time it’s important that we support each other and not lose touch within our communities. \nI believe it is important to protect who we can by staying home as much as we can and furthermore that we can even embrace this chance to find new ways to connect with each other\, improve\, grow and work together\, now even beyond the borders of our countries. \nInformation about ELFS Online Classes \n\n\n \n\n\n\n Your Name (required)\n \n \n Your Email (required)\n \n \n Date of class (required)\n\n \n1. I am uploading material by no later than 7:30pm on the day of class2. I only want to audit/ watch the feedback on other people's material\n \n Comments
