Since ELFS Japan launched its acting workshops in 2019 dozens of Japanese and foreign actors have taken classes with us. With most of that time being during the difficult period of the pandemic the classes have also created a sense of community and place for actors
Now we hope to take this a stage further by creating a membership scheme by which actor’s will have access to the facilities, tutors and community of the school to provide support in their careers.

The ELFS Japan studio will be open two afternoons each week from 12 noon to 6pm for actors to use as a exercise, rehearsal and community space. Until we discover how popular this is no booking will be required. (To bring a guest to use the space who is not a member will require a ¥500 fee). NB: This is not a private booking and the space will be open to all.
Currently these Open Afternoons’ will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Ability to book the studio space for up to three ‘self-tape’ shoots each month. These will need to be booked and take no more than 1 hour.
10% discount on all ELFS Japan workshops.
40% discount on private hire of the studio.
Ability to shoot a short video for the ELFS Japan ‘video wall’, an online resource for those casting projects to be introduced to ELFS Japan members.

ELFS Japan Acting Studio aims
We aim to become a resource for both Japanese actors with good English skills and foreign actors with good acting training. We have already come to the notice of casting directors and filmmakers in Japan and overseas as providing both of these.
Note, we are not an agency. You are free to belong to an agency and still be an ELFS Japan member and use the facilities. If any work opportunities come through ELFS we are happy to forward them to your agent if you have one.
As part of our focus on community and inclusivity, we will act swiftly to deal with any reports of inappropriate behaviour from other members or staff. The Acting Studio should be a place where all performers should feel welcome and safe.
