Private One-to-One Acting Classes

ELFS Japan has brought together a group of excellent English-speaking acting tutors, and we would like to make them available for those who wish to develop their skills through private study.

Private one-to-one sessions can be booked either on a regular basis for ongoing acting development, or as a single session for a specific purpose.

They are highly recommended for: Audition preparation, working on a specific speech in English, accent work, English language improvement etc.

Sessions can also be run Online through Zoom.

Pricing

Sessions are ¥10,000/hour

Additional costs:

¥2,000 per additional person in class (maximum 4 students)
¥2,000 to have a Japanese translator in the session
¥2,000 if you require a camera and operator for the session

Rory O'Donnell

Rory O’Donnell

Rory O’Donnell worked in the UK entertainment industry for 25 years, initially as an actor, then a casting director, before spending ten years as course director for Raindance London, the UK’s top provider of short training courses for filmmakers. He is an award-winning filmmaker, with short films he has directed screening in festivals in Europe and North America. His students have included everyone from film professionals looking to broaden their skillsets to inexperienced novices with a passing interest in the subject. Building on this experience, he has developed classes accommodating to all backgrounds and abilities.

Lucas Rue

Lucas Rue

Lucas studied in ESRA (Ecole Supérieure de Réalisation Audiovisuelle) in PARIS. After his graduation in 2006, he worked on more than 60 films (Short Films, Music Videos, Documentaries, TV Shows and Feature Films) as Director, Assistant Director, Director of Photography, Cameraman and Gaffer.
Lucas studied acting alongside two of the most famous acting coaches in the U.S (Bob Mc Andrew and Susan Batson). Being their assistant and cameraman for 4 years, he acquired the skills he needed to pursue his work as filmmaker. As he was continuously working on film set, Lucas had eventually the opportunity to teach in one of the most prestigious acting school in Paris, “L’Entrée des Artistes” directed by Olivier BELMONDO. As “acting on screen” teacher for this institution for more than ten years, Lucas developed and sharpened his own method of teaching acting.
In 2017, he moved to Japan to continue is work as acting coach and filmmaker.

Jim O'Connnor

Jim O’Connor

Jim O’Connor received his bachelor of fine arts degree in acting from the University of Rhode Island, USA, where he studied the Meisner method. After working in regional theater under the guidance of Tony award winning Director, Adrian Hall, Jim relocated to New York City where his career shifted to daytime soap operas, episodic television and Emmy award winning national network commercials. Thereafter, Jim explored the growing trend as a television host with his own shows on the USA network amongst others. Throughout his pursuits, Jim steadily trained with Gary Swanson, a first generation acting pupil of Lee Strasberg and lifetime member of The Actor’s Studio. Jim enjoys teaching the knowledge he has been fortunate enough to obtain and now looks forward to sharing the same with Tokyo performing artists.

Marei Annis

Marei Annis

Marei Annis is an actress, producer and writer, originally from Germany, who spent the past five years between London and Los Angeles, founding her own film production company “AVA – All Visions Align Ltd” which has produced two feature films in only two years and is now establishing a branch of operations in Tokyo.

She studied a variety of acting techniques in Berlin, London and Los Angeles with coaches such as Bernard Hiller, Lisa Pescia, Mike Bernardin, Monika Gossmann and Petra Wolf and eventually developed her own technique in guiding actors to express their most unique qualities through their performance.
