4 Friday Evenings 7pm-9:30pm and one Saturday afternoon 1pm-6pm.

Actors lack the leadership of a director and the stimulation of a supporting cast during a self-tape audition. Additionally a competitive element further complicates matters. The combination of these conditions compromises the creative process and can impede the actor from doing their best work. ELFS acting studio is now offering a workshop to fully explore, train and acquire the skills necessary to meet this unique set of challenges in a new class entitled, Audition! Self-tape Submissions.

Week 1: Learn to identify character, define objectives, list obstacles and evaluate circumstances. We will examine various scenes and develop our analytical abilities.

Week 2: Utilize exercises designed to evoke the psychological and emotional conditions of the character which allow the actor to work truthfully under imaginary circumstances.

Week 3: Confronting the competitive element of auditions as well as dealing with directorial adjustments requested by casting professionals.

Week 4: Self-taping requires the use of filmmaking techniques and equipment. This evening we will cover technical needs and the best way to technically present yourself on camera.

Class 5: Takes place on the following Saturday when we will record your assigned audition scene. Each actor will practice using the learned skills to deliver an audition simulation as well as making adjustments in real time. (You will be able to take away copies of your audition recordings).
