This creative writing class invites you to discover the powerful writer within you. Each one of us has a unique story just waiting to be told, and over the course of 5 evenings you will be given the tools to tell that story in a compelling, profound, and transformative way. You’ll learn to trust your impulses, create spontaneously, structure your work, and release yourself from your inner critic.
You will encounter an encouraging environment aiming to unleash writing more powerful than you ever thought possible. Students will be challenged through writing exercises, group discussion, and improvisation. Whether you’re a beginner looking to discover your voice or a seasoned pro hoping to mine new ideas, all levels of experience are welcome. About The Instructor
Andrew is thrilled to be living in such a dynamic and exciting city as Tokyo. A Chicago native, he graduated from the prestigious Steppenwolf School of Acting before embarking on a professional acting and writing career in Los Angeles. Credits include getting killed on CSI-Las Vegas, making folks laugh at Hollywood Comedy Clubs, and acting in plays across the United States. Andrew was also lucky enough to study with the incomparable Ann Randolph, who transformed him as a writer and a teacher. He spent the last 14 years working with young artists as a writing and acting teacher at the Performing Arts Academy in Buffalo, New York . He has written 3 full length plays, been accepted into the Chicago and Toronto Fringe Festivals, and will be premiering his newest play “Kamiwaza” this October in Tokyo.
