ACTING: On Camera Intensive (Weekend)
19th August 2023 @ 10:00 am - 20th August 2023 @ 6:00 pm
¥25,000
In this intensive weekend class, you will learn how to take a performance from rehearsal to screen!
You will work with a scene partner on a scene that you are assigned before the class begins, to give you time to prepare in your own way to get the most out of the course.
On Saturday we will rehearse and block your scenes, ready for filming. Then you will receive a technical introduction to on-camera acting, continuity and blocking so you’re ready for the big day:
On Sunday we will film your scenes, like you would in an actual film production!
In the final segment of the class, we will review the material and you will receive feedback on your performance, based on what we see on camera.
You will be free to keep and use the footage from this workshop in whichever way you like – however, the focus when filming will be on the exercise and your growth as an actor.
Space is limited to 10 actors, so early sign-up is recommended.

Marei Annis started the acting department at ELFS Japan in 2019. She runs her own independent production company AVA – All Visions Align and has produced, written, directed and starred in a variety of film and stage productions in Japan, Germany, London and Los Angeles.

Amongst many others she studied with Monika Gossmann (Iron Sky, Mank), Lisa Pescia (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld) and Bernard Hiller (coach of Cameron Diaz, Michelle Pfeiffer,…). She produced two feature films, wrote and directed several plays, a webseries and various short films and currently has one of her feature film scripts and a TV pilot in development under a production company in Hollywood. She also trained in “Contextual Coaching” (NLP and RET based) for a deeper understanding of how to reach and empower students on an individual level.
Marei’s approach to teaching always begins with the student as an individual and focuses most on finding and refining the talent, experience and passion that’s already there – then taking it to the next level.
